Uplift schemes reviewed

SHIKARPUR, Oct 16: The district council Shikarpur remained in session for three days and concluded its proceedings on Monday.

The district Naib Nazim, Zafar Shaikh, presided over the meeting.

The meeting discussed the development schemes including drainage system, water supply schemes, supply of electricity, construction of link roads, opening of schools and grant of TA and DA for the members.

The meeting decided to provide equal share from the development funds of Rs72 million allocated by the government under third phase of Khushhal Pakistan Programme in the district.

Among others Syed Nadir Hussain Shah, Aqeel Abbas Soomro, Agha Lal Bux Khan, Agha Dinal Khan, Haji Lutufullah Dal, Mehrunnisa and Manzoor Khatoon.

The meeting resolved to reserve Rs10 million from the development fund released by the government for discretionary utilization by the district Nazim.

The house unanimously recommended to open PASCO procurement centres for purchasing paddy and other agricultural produce directly from the abadgars at considerable rates.

Through a resolution the house also recommended to fix the purchasing rate of paddy at Rs275 per 40 kilograms.
