Mai’s school completes a year

MULTAN, March 20: The first annual function of Mukhtar Mai’s school scheduled for Tuesday (today) has drawn foreign press and NGOs to Meerwala, Muzaffargarh.

The school being run by the Mukhtar Mai Women’s Welfare Foundation will announce its results in a ceremony where students will be given prizes. Among those present in Meerwala are New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof, HR activist and head of an association of Pakistani doctors based in US Dr Amna Butter. Media personnel have also come from Germany and Holland. —Correspondent
