KARACHI, March 20: Six ships carrying steel pipe, coal and to load naphtha are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. A record cargo totalling 0.228m tons comprising 65,072 tons of export cargo, including 27,000 tons of molasses and 0.163m tons of import tonnage, was handled, surpassing all previous records.

Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active where nine ships to unload and load containers, vehicles and load cement were berthed. They are: Kota Tampan, Iran Kordestan, Ever Guide, Bunga Kenari, Sagamore and Iran Taba Tabaaei, to unload and load containers, Al-Rabab, to load cement, Johar, to offload crude oil, and Morning Sun, to unload vehicles.

Sailing was also active as half a dozen vessels, including Global Progress, Corin Thaikos, Sagamore, Morning Sun, Jin Ace and Orient Independence departed, while Swat, Kota Tampan, Ever Guide, Olymic and Johar are due to sail out on Tuesday.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Arun Khelapal PVC, to load 20,000 tons of naphtha, Kota Waris, APL Cairo, Sathe Bhum, with containers, Med Dignity, with 40,000 tons of coal, and BBC Greece, with steel pipes.
