Arms seized in crackdown on outlaws

PESHAWAR, March 12: Police found a huge quantity of automatic weapons and narcotics during a crackdown on proclaimed offenders and drug-peddlers.

Police sources said on Sunday that they had nabbed 15 proclaimed offenders in raids conducted in various areas, in the jurisdictions of Faqirabad, Peshtakhara and Daudzai police stations.

They said that one Kalashnikov, two rifles, a gun, 10 pistols and were recovered from the possession of the criminals besides huge quantity of cartridges from their possession.

Police have also seized 13 kg chars and four bottles of liquor in the jurisdiction of Gulbahar police station.

The city police chief has commended officers and jawans by issuing certificates and announcing prizes for them.— APP
