FAISALABAD, March 11: Hundreds of people of Sargodha Road and its adjoining areas staged a sit-in in front of the offices of the district police officer and held demonstration outside the press club against the police failure to arrest the killers of a minor girl.

The protesting people, led by MPA Dr Asad Moazzam, marched through various city roads by carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the police. They claimed that the area police was in league with the alleged culprits who had abducted, raped and strangled the 10-year-old girl, about five days ago.

The protesters staged a sit-in in front of the DPO offices for about one hour and chanted slogans against police, also demanding immediate arrest of the culprits. Outside the press club, they appealed to the government higher-ups to take the notice of the sad incident.

Unidentified persons kidnapped the class-IV student on Sunday last and threw her body after molesting and killing her. The body was recovered from an agricultural research centre fields.

The police have registered a case against unknown persons but yet to arrest the suspects despite repeated requests by the victim family.

TEXTILE INDUSTRY: The Pakistan Textile Exporters Association has done a commendable job for the welfare of people as well as promotion of the export from the country.

This was claimed by PTEA chairman Rana Arif Tauseef while speaking to the delegations of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists and the All-Pakistan Newspaper Employees Confederation on Friday night.

He said the textile exporters and industrialists were not only serving in the field of commerce and trade but also launching projects for the community welfare.

He said billions of rupees were being paid to the government in the shape of various taxes from this city but it still lacked facilities.
