BAHAWALPUR, March 4: Several NGOs organized an anti-Bush rally here on Saturday.
The participants in the rally, which started from Bahawalpur Press Club, were holding placards inscribed with slogans against President Bush for his anti-Muslim policies.
They condemned the US invasion on Afghanistan and Iraq and demanded stoppage of genocide in both the countries.
They called President Bush an international terrorist who had disturbed world peace and was promoting aggression. The speakers appealed to the UN secretary general and other international forums to take serious notice of President Bush’s terrorism towards Muslim community.
The participants later dispersed peacefully.
ANTI-POLIO WALK: A walk was organised here on Saturday to create awareness among masses against polio.
City nazim Zahid Channar led the walk which was held from Farid Gate to Bahawal Victoria Hospital.
DO (health) Dr Zulfiqar Rehmani said 1,253 teams had been formed for administering anti-polio drops to about half a million children.
