ISLAMABAD, Feb 20: Two Siamese twin girls born to a woman who survived last year’s massive earthquake have died in hospital before doctors could separate them, officials said on Monday.
A boy born at the same time, who was not conjoined with his sisters, survived and is doing well, doctors said.
The 24-year-old mother gave birth to the triplets after a marathon journey by landslide-hit roads and then helicopter from her mountain village in AJK to hospital in Islamabad.
But the girls shared vital organs, including the heart and liver and their rib cage was also joined, Dr Wasim of PIMS , told AFP.
