WASHINGTON, Feb 15: The White House has dispelled all speculations about President George Bush’s visit to Pakistan in early March, saying that there’s no question of the trip being cancelled because of the ongoing controversy over the blasphemous caricatures.
“We have full confidence in the President’s security detail and the job that they do,” White House spokesman Scott McClellan told a briefing in Washington. “The President’s trip remains on schedule, and the President looks forward to going to both India and to Pakistan in a few weeks.”
The White House has still not announced the dates or the programme of the presidential visit to India and Pakistan but President Bush had said earlier that he plans to visit South Asia in early March.
