Kuwaiti investors visit KPT

KARACHI, Jan 20: A high-level Kuwaiti delegation on Friday evinced keen interest in some of the major development projects being executed by the Karachi Port Trust (KPT).

Members of the delegation headed by Saad Mohammed Al-Saad, chairman and managing director of National Industries Group, were impressed with projects like the modern cargo village, the port city and the shopping district project.

The delegation, which visited the KPT on Friday, held a meeting with KPT Chairman vice admiral Ahmad Hayat, and suggested to have a detailed meeting during their next visit to discuss these projects in depth.

Commenting on his visit to the KPT, Saad said that he was impressed with the working and the development of the Karachi Port which has moved to mechanization and automation in major port operations.

The Kuwaiti investor said that he would soon make another trip to Pakistan for a detailed study of the KPT projects and felt that the port offers lucrative investment opportunities.
