RAWALPINDI, Jan 31: Three persons were killed in separate incidents in the twin-cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Thursday, police said.
A tyre-dealer, Lal Badshah, was shot and injured by two unidentified persons who had forced their way into his house at Dhok Matkal on Wednesday night. The assailants did not take away any valuables as they fled the scene.
The injured man died at the District Headquarters Hospital on Thursday.
Noor Zaman, 23, was buried in a landslide while digging the foundations of a building in Sector F-11/3.
Nasir Khan, aged 55, was run over and killed by a speeding bus (LOT-8511) while crossing a road in Margalla.
PPI ADDS: The Banni police have arrested six outlaws who had a large quantity of heroin in their possession.
The police on a tip-off raided an inn where the drug-sellers, Sarwar, Shoaib, Afzal, Abrar, Bashir and Tahir, were selling heroin.
A case was registered against them under the Anti-Narcotics Law.
Meanwhile, the secretariat police have arrested a man, Hassan Khan, who was trying to smuggle 24 liquor bottles and 144g of hashish in his Suzuki car (ADB-2235). The police had stopped the car in Pindorian for routine checking.
ALIENS BOOKED: The Aabpara police have booked three Afghan nationals on the charge of living in Pakistan without any permit or legal document.
The police had stopped Mirza Mohammad, Gul Jan and Sir Gul during routine checking of foreigners. A case was registered against them under the Foreigners Act.
VEHICLES STOLEN: A car and three motorcycles were stolen from different areas of the city during the last 24 hours.
Mohammad Mujahid lodged a report at the Waris Khan Police Station that he had parked his car (RIT-2100) outside his house from where it was stolen.
Fasihur Rehman lodged a report at the Kahuta Police Station that his motorbike (RIW-7956) was stolen from outside his house.
An advocate of Wah Cantt, Mohammad Taj, lodged a report at the Cantt Police Station that he had parked his motorbike (RIH- 7149) outside his office from where it went amiss.
Police have registered the cases and launched investigations.
