PESHAWAR, Jan 31: NWFP Education Minister Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani has said that instead of promoting teachers only on seniority, they will be given special incentives for showing good performance and punished for bad performance.

Speaking at the annual parents day function of LIMS at Nishtar Hall here on Thursday, he said the partnership of public and private sectors would be promoted to improve the standard of education.

The minister said the private sector had been allowed to utilize public school buildings in the second shift in order to promote education.

He said no upfront investment was required to run schools in public school buildings.
