Azam Tariq’s detention extended

LAHORE, Jan 30: The Review Board of the Lahore High Court has extended the detention of Maulana Azam Tariq, chief of a banned sectarian organization, till March 31.

The Maulana was produced before the board comprising justices Karamat Nazir Bhandari, Mian Najamuz Zaman and Hamid Farooq, on completion of his 90-day preventive detention on Wednesday.

The board decided to extend his detention besides payment of an allowance of Rs10,000 per month to his family. The allowance will be paid by the 7th of every month.
