PESHAWAR, Jan 30: Many political parties and some religious parties are in close contact with the National Awami Party Pakistan and are expected to enter into a new political alliance for the coming general election.
Talking to PPI, NAPP Information Secretary Shakir Buneri said the NAPP would participate in the election, and stressed the need for an alliance, comprising those political parties, which believed in national reconciliation.
He disclosed that the leaders of the Millat Party, the Tehrik-e-Insaaf Pakistan, the Pakistan People’s Party (Sherpao), the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) and some religious parties were in close contact with the leaders of the NAPP in order to enter a political alliance for the election.
Replying to a question, he said several political alliances were likely to be formed before the election scheduled to be held in October. A group of politicians, who were against President Gen Pervez Musharraf and did not like the graduation condition, would also make an alliance, he added.
Talking about a new political party, headed by Umar Asghar Khan, he said the NAPP did not consider it a political party and that it had been formed as a result of an accident.
Mr Buneri appreciated the reforms aimed at giving representation to the Federally-Administered Triabal Areas in the NWFP Assembly.
He demanded that the judicial system to be introduced in Fata be made subordinate to the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the provincial high courts.
