SANGHAR, Jan 30: The office superintendent of the executive district officer was beaten up by an officer of a law enforcement agency (LEA) here on Wednesday.

Office superintendent Saleem Malik was called by an army officer to the EDO office. When he reached there the EDO was not present but the officer was sitting there.

He asked the office superintendent to stamp some documents. He replied that he could not do so without the order of the EDO. This reply infuriated the officer and he stood up aggressively to beat him.

Sensing the danger Saleem requested the army officer to let him bring the stamp from his office.

After that he went to the inspection branch, located in the same building. The army officer also reached there, caught Saleem by collar and dragged him to his (OS) office and beat him up.

On hearing the noise all the staff members of the DCO gathered there and stopped working and came out in front of the office.

In the meantime, EDO Tanvir Qureshi also reached there and took the officer to his office and also pacified the staff.

When Dawn tried to know the name of the officer no one was ready to disclose his name.

Intelligence agencies’ officials also reached there and were inquiring about the incident.
