KARACHI, Jan 29: The Inspector General of Police, Sindh, Syed Kamal Shah, has said the objective of setting up “Madadgar-15” is to provide better facilities to people under one-window operation.

He stated this while inaugurating one such centre in district West on Tuesday.

The IGP said various counters would be opened in the district which, apart from police personnel, would be manned by representatives of Sui Gas and Electricity Departments, besides legal consultants to provide immediate redressal to public complaints.

He said separate counters had also been provided for immediate registration of FIRs, Bomb Disposal Unit, problems of women and children, legal aid, police behaviour, civil defence, computerised data bank to provide information about vehicles, ambulance service, welfare of the poor, sick and deserving people.

The IGP said police personnel harassing innocent people would be liable to strict action, including removal from service.

Syed Kamal Shah said the facilities being provided to the people would be further increased and more counters would be opened for this purpose.

He informed that a social service was also being started in the police department, whereby immediate relief would be provided to the sick and the deserving patients in taking them to hospital or providing them medical assistance.

He announced that in case of any difficulty in registering an FIR, the citizens could seek immediate assistance from the Madadgar- 15.—APP
