TOBA TEK SINGH: District Monitoring Officer of NA-108 by-election Syed Basit Ali has taken notice of the transfer of Faisalabad Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) regional director Ayub Khan to the provincial directorate.
In a letter to the Punjab ACE director general, he said it was tantamount to a violation of the directions of the Election Commission of Pakistan. The letter directed him to cancel the transfer till the polling day.
The DMO also wrote on Sunday to the Punjab secretary of housing, urban development and public health department in which he directed him to cancel the nomination of MPA Waris Aziz as the Faisalabad Development Authority chairman.
KABADDI PLAYER: International Kabaddi player Muzammil Boota was laid to rest on Monday in Chak 73-GB near Khanuana in Faisalabad.
Scores of people, from different cities, attended his funeral prayers.
He had died of heart failure when he was taking practice as a part of his training on Sunday.
DC: Faisalabad DC Imran Hamid Shaikh has directed the Social Security Department to provide the relevant data on social security cards issued to the industrial workers and asked the factory owners to get prepare the cards of their workers in 10 days.
He said the social security card was the right of every worker by which medical and financial benefits and social security services were provided to them.
Labour leaders say there are more than one million industrial workers in Faisalabad but so far, only 105,000 have been issued social security cards.
FLOUR: Punjab Secretary for Industries, Commerce and Investment Ahmad Javed Qazi has directed that subsidised price flour must be available in all model bazaars of the province from 9am to 5pm daily.

ROBBERS: Robbers allegedly snatched Rs1.9 million from the staff of a soft drinks agency in Thikriwala police station area on Monday.
The police said that three gunmen riding a car intercepted the car of agency staffers near Faisalabad’s new fruit and vegetable market located on Jhang Road. They snatched the cash bag and managed to flee after aerial firing.
