ISLAMABAD, Dec 12: Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf (PTI) on Monday cautioned the government against a proposed increase in rail fares. In a statement issued by the Secretary, Central Finance & Member Central Executive Committee Mr Azhar Tariq, said any increase in rail fares would add to the poor miseries as they were already over-burdened because of the constant increases in the prices of utilities. He criticised the Federal Railway Minister for proposing raise in fares.

Mr Azhar Tariq said that instead of raising rail fare and subjecting the poor to more financial problems the government should reduce the price of diesel. Reduction in diesel price would help the railways maintain the fare if not decrease it.
