HYDERABAD, Dec 6: The provincial ministry of planning and development has issued instructions for release of first instalment of Rs10 million from the annual development programme for the development of the Sindhi Adabi Board. A spokesman for the board here on Tuesday said the finance department had already issued a letter to the Sindh education department to release the amount for the board.
The board administration appreciated the decision of the government for timely release of funds and said it would go a long way in promotion of Sindhi language and literature.
The spokesman said the work on construction of a museum, auditorium and display centre would be resumed immediately.
He said that important manuscripts on history of Sindh and Sindhi language would be published.
The administration thanked the board chairperson and education minister, Dr Hamida Khuhro and secretary education, Ghulam Ali Pasha for undertaking special efforts for the release of funds.
HUNGER STRIKE: A large number of primary teachers under the banner of All-Sindh Primary Teachers Association, Hyderabad chapter, observed a token hunger strike outside the press club here on Tuesday to press for acceptance of their demands.
