KARACHI, Nov 24: Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, administrative judge of anti-terrorism courts for Karachi division, on Thursday extended police custody remand of two accused till Nov 30 in PIDC blast case while third accused was let off after he was not picked up in identification parade.
Aziz Khan and Mangla Khan, stated to be activists of Balochistan Liberation Army, were produced before Justice Khilji Arif Hussain of Sindh High Court amid tight security.
The AJ approved report for release of third accused Abdul Jabbar, submitted by police on lack of evidence against him.
Three people have been killed and 21 others wounded after a bomb exploded in car ACB-490 parked outside PIDC building on Nov 15.
Investigation officer told AJ that witnesses identified two accused Aziz Khan and Mengla Khan in identification parade, conducted by judicial magistrate.
However, no evidence was found against third accused Abdul Jabbar Khan, he said and submitted police report for his release under Section 497(ii) of CrPC. He said the arrested accused disclosed information about some absconding co-accused, who had arms and explosive substance.
Granting further remand of the two accused, the court fixed next hearing for Nov 30.—PPI/APP
