KARACHI, Jan 25: The Sindh government has constituted a committee for disposal of old condemned government vehicles of the districts through public auction.

The committee includes the DCO as its chairman while the executive district coordination officer (finance & planning) and the executive district officer (revenue) and S.E. (mech) will be its members.

The terms of reference of the committee are:

—All condemned vehicles received by the district coordination officer from various offices may be given in the custody of government auctioneers after fixing the date of auction.

— The auction sale may be advertised at least in three leading newspapers (Urdu, Sindh & English) and also pamphlets may be published for distribution among the public to make auction more competitive.

—All Members of the Committee may be informed regarding the date of auction well in time.

— Auction may be conducted in the presence of all the members of the committee and every vehicle should be put to auction separately.

— Auction sale may be processed in favour of the highest bidder and 1/4th of the bid may be recovered on the spot.

— After completion of sale proceedings, all papers may be submitted to the district coordination officers for confirmation/ acceptance of the highest bid.

— After approval of the D.C.O concerned delivery of the vehicle in question may be given along with the sale certificate under section 107 of the Land Revenue Act, 1967, to the successful bidder after the remaining 3/4th of the amount has been recovered and deposited immediately into government treasury.

— After completion of deliveries to the purchasers the government auctioneer may be paid his commission charges at the rates approved by the competent authority and the district coordination officer concerned reserves the right to reject or accept the highest bid without assigning reasons thereto and his decision will be final.—APP
