PESHAWAR, Nov 20: NWFP Governor Khalilur Rehman has stressed the need of expediting efforts to solve the infrastructure and accommodation problems at the quake-affected Hazara University.

At a meeting with Vice-Chancellor Dr Daud Awan in Abbottabad on Saturday, the governor said: “We must ensure provision of congenial educational atmosphere to students within the shortest possible time.”

Any delay might cause a great loss to the studies of the university’s 3,200 students, he added.

The governor said that although long-term strategies for rehabilitation were still under consideration, “we must focus on making temporary arrangements to revive the educational process and re-start classes without any delay”.

He asked the district governments concerned to make alternative arrangements to help the university resume its activities.
