KARACHI, Nov 20: Three political workers were killed by unknown persons in two separate incidents in different parts of the city on Sunday. A former activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and a man said to be a PPP activist were gunned down on early Sunday morning in the limits of Rizvia police station. Another man was sitting along with the victims got wounded in the incident.

Police said that some people were sitting outside the Rizvia Marriage lawns on late Saturday night, when unknown persons on a motorcycle pulled up and sprayed them with bullets and fled the scene.

The wounded were taken to the nearby private hospital where two of the injured were pronounced dead on arrival while the third victim was referred to the JPMC for further treatment.

Those killed were identified as Mohammad Islam, a former Muttahida activist and Nazar Abbas, a PPP worker, SHO Rizvia police station said.

The wounded was identified as Mohammad Sadiq, 50, police added.

According to the press release issued by the People Students Federation, Nazar Abbas Naqvi, was the former secretary of the PSF District Central.

In another incident, an activist of the MQM-H was shot dead by unknown persons in Malir on Sunday.

Police said that Fahim Nabi, 38, was sitting near Student Bakery near the RCD ground when two unknown persons on a motorcycle pulled up and opened fire at him. He was taken to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead. Later the body was sent to the JPMC for autopsy, police said.

Police said that initially, Fahim Nabi was associated with the Mutthaida Qaumi Movement, but later joined the MQM-Haqiqi. However, following the crackdown on Haqiqi he had disassociated himself with the party.

In Korangi, a young boy died of a stray bullet while playing at the roof of his house on Sunday.

Police said that Feroz, 10, was playing at the rooftop of his house in Korangi 100 quarters when a stray bullet hit him in the head. The young boy died on the spot.
