GUJRANWALA, Oct 20: Edhi Welfare Trust head Abdul Sattar Edhi on Thursday terminated four employees of the Gujranwala centre for allegedly embezzling relief goods.
The new staff had been appointed at the centre.
Meanwhile, the area magistrate has issued three-day physical remand of former Edhi Centre supervisor Muhammad Nadeem, three other officials, land dealer Muhammad Javid and handed over them to Satellite Town police.
COLLEGE DONATION: The staff and students of Government College Gujranwala have donated 50 bags of blood and Rs50,000 in cash for the quake-hit areas.
Principal Rashid Ahmad Angvi lauded the contribution of the students and teachers.
Prof Donald Jiwan Mal said a 18-member team, headed by a professor, was helping the army in an affected area.

POSTS VACANT: The posts of district education officer (female) and deputy DEO have been lying vacant for the last one and two years respectively, it is learnt here.
Reports said the charge of these posts had been handed over to the DEO (male).
Meanwhile, lady teachers have demanded that the vacancies should be filled at the earliest as they were reluctant to attend the male office for resolving their problems.
