MIRPURKHAS, Jan 20: Ten officials of the Hesco, Mirpurkhas division, including eight line superintendents, have been issued show cause notices by the superintending engineer, first operation circle, Hesco, Hyderabad, it was reliably learnt.

They had reportedly failed to control the theft of electricity.

The officials who were issued the show cause notices include Mehmood Ahmed of Satellite Town sub-division, Abdul Wahab of Digri sub-division, Keshulal and Abdul Waheed of Samaro sub-division, Ali Nawaz Larak and Mohammad Ajmal of Hirabad sub-division, Shahbaz Ahmed and Abdul Sattar Memon of Umerkot sub-division.

HOSTEL: A girl student of the Government Ibn-i-Rushd Girls College, Mirpurkhas, Ms Asma, narrowly escaped unhurt on Friday when a piece of roof of the college hostel kitchen fell down while she was preparing a meal.

The hostel building was constructed in 1960 and has not been repaired for a long time.

Many students travel from the far flung towns of the district daily to attend the college instead of staying in the hostel due to its dilapidated condition.
