KARACHI, Sept 7: President of the Pakistan People’s Party, Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah has called upon people to support the Sept 9 strike call against the regime’s ‘fascist’ policies which, he claimed, had led to an unbearable price escalation, unemployment. It would also be a protest against the ‘massive rigging’ by the regime in the recent local body election, he added.

Endorsing the strike call given by the national leaders’ conference, Mr Shah directed the party cadre to ensure a peaceful strike and ensure that agent provocateurs didn’t exploit the situation to the advantage of the regime.

The PPP leader appealed to transporters to keep their vehicles off the road. He also urged businessmen and industrialists to keep their business closed to express their rejection of the regime’s ‘anti-people’ policies.

Mr Shah slammed the regime for organizing, what he called, ‘the greatest election rigging at all stages’, and said: “The people of Sindh will not forgive those who had became tools in letting loose the state terrorism.”

He directed allied wings of the party to make their best efforts for the success of the strike. He also deplored the government move to arrest activists ahead of the strike, and said that such tactics would not deter the cadre from giving its full potential.
