LONDON, Jan 17: Amnesty International on Thursday attacked the use of the death penalty in the US, saying that 25 years of executions had “offered no constructive contribution to the country’s efforts to combat violent crime.”

In a report, Amnesty said the policy had caused serious damage to the country’s international reputation.—AFP
