Vietnam to open trade office in Pakistan

LAHORE, Aug 27: Vietnam will open its Trade Office in Karachi next month and its Embassy in Islamabad shortly. This was stated by Nguyen Anh Tuan, leader of six-member delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of Trade and Commerce during meeting with Akbar Abdullah, Vice-President, FPCCI held on Saturday in Federation House, Karachi.

The delegation, which is visiting Pakistan to finalize arrangements for opening the Commercial Consulate in Karachi informed that a suitable office for Commercial Consulate is being searched, a press release issued here by FPCCI said.

Akbar Abdullah expressed pleasure over the opening of the Commercial Consulate in Karachi and hoped that it will be helpful in promoting trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The FPCCI Vice-President said since businessmen were facing difficulties in getting visa to visit Vietnam, they would be issued visa either on arrival at airport or till the opening of the Embassy in Islamabad the Commercial Consulate be allowed to issue visa. The leader of the delegation who is Deputy Director General of the Vietnamese ministry of trade and commerce promised to take up the matter with the ministry of foreign affairs.—APP
