KARACHI, Aug 23: Two ships carrying containers and edible oil were allotted berths at QICT and MPT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday. Berth occupancy stood at 78 per cent as seven ships, Camilla Rickmers, Sealand Independence, Jain She-33, Caroline-7, Keenfan, Sinar Sabang and Condor, were busy in loading and unloading containers, edible oil, diesel oil, coal and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 78,157 tons comprising 57,842 tons of import cargo and 20,315 tons of export was handled.

Sailing was brisk as Socotra, Camilla Rickmers, Sinar Sabnag, Keefan and Jain She-33 left the port. A container carrier, Industrial Charger, was due to take berth at QICT. Two ships, Contship Tamarind and Stolt Excellce, were expected to reach the port on Wednesday.
