Umpires course

KARACHI, Aug 22: The two-day Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) umpires refresher course got under way at National Stadium on Monday. As many as 30 umpires including Test, international, first-class and other non first-class umpires and seven referees on the PCB panel from different parts of Sindh and Balochistan are attending the course conducted by former Test umpires Mahboob Shah and Feroz Butt.

On the opening day, lectures were delivered on different subjects and discussions were held on playing conditions and rules of the game.

Those attending the course included: Abdul Karim (D.M. Jamali), Rafiq Ahmed (Dadu), M. Akbar Khan (Hyderabad), Tariq Taufiq Khan (Hyderabad), Saleem Badar, Afzaal Ahmed, Riazuddin (Karachi), Islam Khan, Shakeel Khan, Khalid Mahmood Sr.,M. H.Dars, Junaid Ghafoor, Syed Imtiaz Iqbal, M. Rashid Khan, Muzaffar Ali Khan, Syed Tahir Hasan, Sadiq Khan, Roohul Hassan, Atiq Khan, Muhammad Asim Alvi, Shamim Ahmed Ansari, Akhtar Ali (all from Karachi), Sultan Mahmood (Loralai), Khalid Mahmood Jr, Hyder Lehri, Tanvir Iqbal (Quetta), Mohammad Aslam Khan, Abdul Samad Durrani Dr Ahmed Tariq Chishti (all from Quetta) and Rasheed Memon (Thatta).—APP
