LAHORE, Aug 20: London Chamber of Commerce and Industry former president Sir Ghulam Noon has said that Pakistani entrepreneurs should not be scared by the extremist elements trying to spoil the Pak-UK relations.
Referring to the recent London blasts while talking to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Mian Mibahur Rehman and Senior Vice President Sohail Lashari during a visit to the chamber here on Saturday, he said the extremists had failed in their attempt and Pak-UK relations were fast returning to normal.
He said the UK was one of the major stakeholders in Pakistan’s industry and the volume of its investment could increase further if efforts were made for the purpose.
He said the UK also offered a lot of opportunities for Pakistanis, but they would have to keep pace with the changing global scenario.
LCCI President Mian Misbahur Rehman said trade between Pakistan and UK could be significantly increased by removing 13.1 per cent anti-dumping duty imposed by the European Union on Pakistani bed linen by avoiding change in Rules of Origin.
The British entrepreneurs could also avail liberal incentives available for foreign direct investment in Pakistan.
Chamber SVP Sohail Lashari said Pakistanis living in UK should invest at home for reducing poverty and unemployment.
