MULTAN: The three-day urs of Shah Rukn-i-Alam concluded on Thursday with prayers for the progress, prosperity and security of the country.

The 706th urs concluded at the saint’s shrine at Qila Kuhna Qasim Bagh with a sermon by shrine caretaker and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi to the congregation.

Praying for the unity among the Muslim countries and the end of miseries of Kashmiris, Mr Qureshi said that efforts are underway at intentional forums to push Pakistan back while the Muslims of Kashmir and India were suffering from hardship.

“Some forces that consider India their future ally are backing it,” he said.

“As many as 11 states of India have refused to implement the citizen amendment act introduced by the BJP government.”

He said that 210 people were killed during the last year by the India on the Line of Control.

Thousands of devotees visited the shrine on the last day to pay tributes to the great saint.
