Indian firms in deal with PTCL

NEW DELHI, Aug 9: India’s leading private telecom companies Bharti and Reliance Infocomm will be partnering with Pakistan Telecommunications Company Ltd to lay a fibre optic network from Lahore to the Indo-Pak border at Wagah, a PTI report said here on Tuesday.

The project was discussed at the Indo-Pak commerce secretary level talk during which New Delhi assured Islamabad that it would support the initiative, the news agency quoted official sources as saying.
