LAHORE, Aug 9: Jockey M. Zeeshan won the riding honours of the day by bringing home a brace of winners when the postponed Lahore Summer Meeting was held at the Racecourse on Tuesday.

Races scheduled for Sunday were postponed for two days due to rains which lashed the city on Sunday last making the Racecourse waterlogged and slippery. M. Zeeshan first rode home four-year-old filly Russian Rhythm in the third race to beat another filly Savera by about two lengths. He later piloted home the filly, Sajrey Phul in the fifth race and supporting event to complete his well-deserved double.

The daughter of Cisco Well, Sajrey Phul, in a front-running display dictated her pace and beat top weight gelding Millennium Count by three-fourth of a lengths, covering the sprinting distance of 1000m in one minute 2 3/5 secs, as a best performer of the day.

Sajrey Phul broke well from the pack in the early part of the race and had the event won half-way, in the end holding on to beat the on-rushing Millennium Count, who failed to catch her under an heavy impost of nine stones six pounds.

Aya Chandiwala finished third, two lengths further behind while Zardan completed the frame among eight starters. A race later speedy Young Emperor defied a handicap of ten stones to beat Where Or When by three-fourth of a length.

Who Dares finished third while Safe And Sound completed the frame. In all eight ran for the event.

This was again a bad day for punters when almost all the first favourites were beaten when a card of six events was gone through on the dust track.

This is the fourth race in continuation of punters misery, who have been losing heavily each day.
