ISLAMABAD, Aug 1: Ashfaq Mahmood and Kashif Majeed qualified for the men’s singles semifinals of the Staff Welfare running trophy badminton tournament at the CRA Community Centre here. In the first quarterfinal, Ashfaq defeated Bahadur Ali 15-8, 9- 15, 15-8 in a well-contested match while Kashif knocked out Irfan 15-5, 15-7.

Also advancing to the semifinals were Dr. Abid and Jahanzeb both of whom scored comfortable victories over their respective opponents.

Dr. Abid eliminated Shuja 15-9, 15-8 and Jahanzeb beat Asif Saleem 15-11, 15-7 to book their berths in the pre-finals.
