CHITRAL, July 31: A snow-leopard killed more than 40 heads of cattle in the pastures of Rumboor valley and Achulga in a broad day-light. The residents of the valley said that the animals included cows and oxen which are grazed in the pasture in summer.

The leopard also attacked a herdsman but he escaped after struggle.

The situation has sparked a wave of fear in the area. The snow-leopard, it may be mentioned here, has been declared endangered species by the wildlife department.
