ISLAMABAD July 29: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said on Friday that the work on construction of big water reservoirs would be taken in hand after the A.N.G Abbasi-led committee submitted report to the government. He said that four provinces would be taken into confidence before going for any of the dams, including Kalabagh and Bhasha dams.

Speaking briefly at a ceremony held on the occasion of sending six truckloads of relief goods for Rajanpur flood victims at the cabinet division, he stressed the need for construction of big dams to save rain and flood water for the benefit of agriculture and energy sectors.

He said that the damage caused by the recent flash floods were due to lack of sufficient water preservation arrangements. Premier Aziz said that the government had done its best to mitigate the sufferings of the flood victims and mentioned the relief goods earlier dispatched to the NWFP. Ruling Pakistan Muslim League (PML) Secretary-General Mushahid Hussain Syed was also present on the occasion.
