KARACHI: Two human skeletons found

KARACHI, July 15: Two human skeletons were recovered from beneath the Lasbella Bridge on Friday evening by the police. Police said someone from the neighbourhood informed the police about the presence of bones. Police went and recovered two skeletons which were shifted to Abbasi Hospital. Hospital sources said one skeleton was of a young boy while the other belonged to a middle-aged man.

Police said the bodies might have been dumped at the spot which decomposed and reduced to skeleton form.

SUICIDES: Two persons committed suicide on Friday.

A contractor of the Saddar Town shot himself in Nazimabad. Police said Syed Suliman Haider, 40, shot himself in the head. The deceased was single and used to live with his mother. Police said the victim was under pressure to pay back a loan which apparently drove him to commit suicide.

Police shifted the body to Abbasi Hospital for legal formalities.

In Mehmoodabad, a young man committed suicide in a similar manner. Police said Khalid Mehmood Chishti, 27, shot himself in the temple in his room in Azam Basti. The young man had been suffering from some terminal illness.

Police shifted the body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for postmortem.

HOAX: Acting on information passed to Madadgar-15, the police on Friday intercepted a suspected car reportedly carrying explosions and heading to some Imambargah on a suicide mission.

ASP Civil Lines told Dawn that someone from a cell phone informed the police control that a car with such and such registration number is laden with explosives and is heading towards some Imambargah.

Subsequently, the US consulate picket intercepted the car. The car was driven by its owner, a chartered accountant. His guard had a licensed weapon, the ASP said adding that someone had played a mischief with the owner of the car.
