LAHORE: Directive to improve tax collection

LAHORE, Jan 12: Punjab chief secretary Imtiaz Masrur directed on Saturday all the provincial departments concerned to further improve collection of provincial receipts.

Presiding over a meeting held to review the revenue collection position during the first quarter of the current financial year, he asked the excise and taxation department secretary to make the property tax assessment people-friendly.

The meeting was attended by the board of revenue’s senior member, secretaries of the finance, irrigation, excise and housing and urban development departments. They gave details of the revenue collection by their respective departments and efforts made to meet the revenue targets for the year.
