LAHORE: Sports Board Punjab awarded medals and certificates to male and female players for winning gold medals in the 3rd International Pars Wushu Cup held in Zahedan, Iran recently.

Seven teams of different countries including three of Iran, India, Afghanistan, Palestine, Iraq, besides Pakistan competed in the event.

Pakistan’s Amanat Ali clinched three medals including one gold in changquan, silver in gunshu and bronze in daoshu categories. Dawood Shahid and Sundas bagged silver medals in chianshu and -65kg categories respectively.

Samreen Altaf won three bronze medals in thaci, thachi chain and daoshu categories. Jannat Shahzad also grabbed a pair of bronze medals in nangun and chayanshu categories while Maira Karamat also managed to win a bronze in -60kg weight class.

Director General Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar while awarding the medals and certificates hailed the performances of the players and assured full support to further hone their skill and to get more laurels for the country.
