ISLAMABAD, July 7: Opposition members belonging to the Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD) have submitted an adjournment motion to the National Assembly Secretariat to discuss the flood situation in the country and the government’s policy to deal with such disasters. Talking to Dawn, ARD Parliamentary Secretary Izhar Amrohvi said the opposition members had also submitted a motion on the statement of a World Bank representative that six dams in Pakistan were about to collapse.

Mr Amrohvi said 13 PPP and the PML-N MNAs had filed a motion under Rule 92 of the Rules and Procedure for Conduct of Business in the National Assembly 1992 in which they held the federal government responsible for the losses caused by floods in the NWFP and Northern Areas.
