KARACHI, June 28: Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister on Local Government Waseem Akhtar on Tuesday termed the presentation and approval of the CDGK budget by the City Nazim in City Council illegal.

In a press release issued here on Tuesday, he said that the City Nazim has violated the orders of the Sindh Chief Minister and it was breach of the SLGO and the Constitution.

He said that the Local Government Commission was reviewing the situation, so as take a legal action against the City Nazim.

He said that an order number FD-SO (LP-II) 169/2004-05 was issued on June 27 to all the district governments of Sindh informing them that they were not authorized to present the budget for the next financial year.

He asked that under which law the City Nazim had violated the order of the chief minister. He said that there was not legal status of the budget and all the officers of the district government have been ordered not to implement on the budget.—PPI
