HYDERABAD: SC sets aside SHC order

HYDERABAD, Jan 11: An appellate bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan comprising Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and Justice Hamid Ali Mirza has set aside an order of the Sindh High Court by virtue of which appeals of 15 appellants, seeking enhancement of compensation of land acquisition award form Rs10,000 to Rs400,000 was allowed.

The order was passed on an appeal filed by the Hyderabad Development Authority. Kishan Chand Barwarni, advocate, represented the HDA.

The court restored the order of the additional district judge and granted leave to appeal to the appellants. —Correspondent
