LAHORE, June 20: As the city experienced the hottest day of the season on Monday with mercury rising to 46 degrees Celsius from Sunday’s 44, the local Met office has forecast hot and dry weather during the next 24 hours. City roads wore a deserted look while the number of visitors to markets dropped considerably. A large number of people visited the canal to take a dip in it.
“Punjab plains are likely to sizzle for another couple of days. There may be a dust storm during this period, but there is no likelihood of rain,” said chief meteorologist Shaukat Ali.
He said the thrust of the current heat wave was over southern Punjab and Sindh.—APP
