LAHORE, Jan 10: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam amir Maulana Fazlur Rehman has appealed to the Supreme Court to declare his detention and those of all other religious leaders, illegal.

In a message received here on Thursday, he appealed through a letter written to the apex court. He appealed the court to cancel all the detention orders and stop the government from taking steps which were illegal, against the constitution, democratic norms and human rights.

The Maulana sought permission to appear before the court for the submission of his point of view.
