LAKKI MARWAT, June 12: Two employees of the PTCL were arrested as law enforcement agencies continued a crackdown on striking workers ahead of the sell-off date of the company on June 18.
Meanwhile, a police contingent has taken control in the town. Sources said on Sunday that the police only allowed staffers on duty to go inside the exchange.
They said police continued raids looking for members of the PTCL employees action committee and held two low-grade workers, Rozi Khan and Khurshid Khan. However, key members of the action committee, the sources said, had gone underground.
The police have also increased patrolling on Serai Naurang-Darra Pezu road and Tajazai-Lakki road to ensure security of the optical fibre line.
