KARACHI: Park in Clifton opened

KARACHI, June 12: The Nazim of Saddar Town, Mohammad Farooq Memon Fariya, inaugurated the Bakhtawar Park, on Street 10, block 5, Clifton as part of the recreation scheme envisaged for his area of jurisdiction. Mentioning that the town government was keen to meet the health and recreational needs of the citizens along with other civic facilities, the nazim said it was with the very point of view that a jogging tract of 300 running feet had been developed at the park.

Along with these he said innovative swings had also been erected at the park for children, which would again be a source of physical fitness for them and could also be amazed to witness a giant size model of a dinosaur placed at the said park.

Mr Fariya said that the conversion of a barren and desolate piece of land into a recreational facility reflected the sincerity of the town government, which was also doing its level best to install street lights, repairing of roads, lanes and footpaths within its limited budget.

He said that to add to the beauty of the park fountains had been built there with special lighting effects while more than 400 different types of plants and shrubs grown with the provision for water sprinkler.

Saddar TMO Mukhtar Hussain speaking on the occasion said the renovation of parks and recreational spots was underway in the town under an extensive beautification plan.—APP
