LAHORE, Oct 13: FIFA representative, Mani Lal Fernando, will arrive here on Nov 11 to evaluate the plans for the Goal Project prepared by the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF).

Fernando, a Sri Lanka-based official, has confirmed his programme and would stay in Pakistan for four days.

Pakistan will receive a grant of $400,000 after the evaluation and approval of the plans to raise football infrastructure till 2002.

The decision to sanction the aid will be taken after the FIFA meeting in Zurich next February on the basis of Fernando’s report.

According to the PFF, it will build the Football House and an academy for which a piece of land is being sought in Islamabad. During his visit, Fernando will inspect the land in Islamabad and grounds in different cities.

A decision on the national training camp for SAF Games will be taken after Oct 15. The training camp is suspended since the postponement of the the Oct 6 to 15 Games in Islamabad.

Organizers had to set March 30 as the new starting date of the Games as the technical delegates refused to come due to security fears in the wake of terror attacks on US.
