KARACHI, Jan 8: The activity at the Karachi Port is expected to further pick up on Wednesday as seven ships carrying containers and general cargo are due to arrive, according to KPT sources.
Berth occupancy on the wharves fell to 35 per cent owing to slow arrivals of foreign flag vessels and as a result, only one cargo ship, Brunto was berthed.
But it was maintained on the higher side of 67 per cent on the Bulk Oil piers thanks to steady arrivals of tankers.
Sailing on the other hand was active as five ships, Safe Marine Tana, Kota Setia, Trade Fast, Song He and Parvat departed, while Athenian Valour, Al-Maqwa, Marine Trade, Wan Hai-233 and Shakhtar are due to sail out on Wednesday.
