THATTA, Aug 28: Teachers, on the call of the Government Secondary Teachers Association, boycotted classes throughout the district on Thursday, demanding payment of their dues.

The teachers wore black arm bands and hoisted black flags atop school buildings.

The strike would continue till Saturday.

Talking to journalists, office-bearers of the GSTA, Zulfiqar Halayo, Mohammad Ali Memon, Abdul Hakim Memon, Qutub Munir and others, said over 300 secondary teachers participated in a 24-day training course three months back but they were not paid the stipend.

They also protest against the transfer of two woman teachers from the Grammar High School, Sujawal, and warned that the GSTA would enlarge the scope of the protest if their demands were not accepted in a week.
