Corrupt officials booked

SUKKUR, Aug 28: The Anti-Corruption Establishment, Jacobabad, has registered FIRs against 54 persons, including 29 education department and district accounts officials, on charges of corruption.

The 29 officials and 25 private persons were booked for allegedly embezzling Rs1.5 billion of house purchase bills, difference of salary bills, GP fund and other accounts during the last two years.

Those booked are the EDO, education, Nazra Ansari, additional district accounts officer, Habibullah, accounts officer, Ghulam Rasool Bhutto, Moham-mad Azeem Sarki, Ghulam Rasool Bhayo, Jawed Buriro, Syed Hashim Shah, Manzoor, Suleman, Syed Ibrahim Shah, Rashid Umer, and other officials of the two departments.

Three office-bearers of the Government School Teachers Association, Nazeer Ahmad Noonari, Ali Hassan Dasti and Abdul Aziz Buriro, were also booked.
